More days for contemplation/preparation...

A couple of days has passed and we are now fairly richer in knowledge, experience and … money. It means we have spent quite a lot of time infiltrating the history, profile and current activities of Castanea in order to prepare a comprehensive report. It also means our AdWords account has been awarded the US$200 voucher ready to be used during the advertising campaign.

However, on account of unexpected delay in giving us an access to the Castanea’s website we have been compelled to postpone the starting day of the campaign. In conjunction with the forthcoming Easter holiday, which we consider as a time for contemplation rather than work, we will probably reach 2 or 3-weeks-lag in comparison to our previous plans. In the light of preparation, we will do our best to take advantage of this extra time in the best possible way.

We wish you a happy Easter!

Knowledge and imagination - the beginnings of the beginning...

Well. The first steps on a long way to the execution of our daring plans* have been taken.

Firstly, our AdWords account has been set up and registered with Google to take part in the contest. At present, we are waiting for the online advertising voucher worth US$200, straining our neurons how to turn this inconspicuous amount of money into a praiseworthy effect.

Secondly, we’ve been constantly working on the initial report. The profile of Castanea is now of our main interest.

Finally, as far as the customer company is concerned, we are on the verge of establishing a consensus regarding some necessary changes on the client’s webpage. We would like to adjust the page in a better way to the specificity of the campaign, hence there is a demand for a slight improvement.

Summing up, the work is in progress and the plans to set the campaign in motion at the beginning of April haven’t changed yet. Hopefully, they won’t and everything will run smoothly like clockwork.

*to make things clear: we define daring plans as a result which outperforms our knowledge. However, according to Albert Einstein: “Imagination is more important than knowledge”, so our plans aren’t as daring as they might seem to be.

Let the earth put forth vegetation...

And God said, "Let the earth put forth vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, upon the earth." And it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

Well, it was a commencement, wasn’t it? And according to people’s highest superior in a chain of command, it was good. Shouldn’t we deal with something traditional and good?

The way of deducing written above has brought us to a choice of Castanea as a company we would like to take advantage of in the 2010 Google Online Marketing Challenge. Castanea is a young garden architecture studio which engages in the art of imitating the omnipresent nature and creating a living space so that every part could be harmoniously composed in the wholeness. In accordance with the company’s mission it is converting a vision into reality. It is our aim to widespread the services provided by Castanea using the AdWords tools.

Who are we? Students in general. In particular: students of Warsaw School of Economics in the middle of the fourth year of academic education. Hotheads of marketing, zealots of finance and accounting, devotees of quantitative methods in economics. Keen on squash and backpacking, capable of playing the accordion, piano and guitar, fond of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jamiroquai. Above all, we are friends hoping to have a lot of fun while devising an online marketing campaign with Google AdWords.

To put the plans into practice we have prepared a preliminary labour division:

Piotr Cudny – writing reports, copywriting

Artur Horsztyński – webmaster, customer relations

Izabela Korneta – writing reports

Michał Pawłowski – blog editing

Kamil Sikorski – customer relations, devising, running and optimizing a campaign

Maciej Żulewski – devising, running and optimizing a campaign, creating graphic ads

The list above shows only the core activities of each member of the group. First of all we constitute a team and consider a cooperation as a highest priority. According to Heraclitus of Ephesus “Panta rhei” so every plans may be a subject to change with a flow of action.

Hopefully, we will implement our campaign at the beginning of April. We will do our best to devise a humble piece of marketing masterpiece relevant to our knowledge and capabilities. Paraphrasing the Holy Bible: “We would like to see that it was good”.
